I went to a traditional Korean wedding ceremony last Saturday. My Korean friend Soomin and my American friend Troy got married. He was carried to the stage thing in this chair by his footmen; the curtain hid his face so that they couldn't see each other. Arranged marriages worked in such a way that couples were not permitted to glimpse the other's face until the minute of their marriage.
